“What do you mean you don’t let your dog come and snuggle with you on the sofa or in bed????” Said the Ralph…….
I cannot tell you how many times clients have recoiled or been ashamed to tell me that they let their dogs on the sofa or in their bed for fear that I am going to going to turn into the big green monster who smashes.
So let me tell you all a (not so secret) secret….
🐾 My dog sleeps on my sofa!
🐾 My dog sleeps on my bed!
🐾 My dog seems to have a bed (if not 2) in every single room in the house!
🐾 My dog dog gives super sloppy kisses
in the face!
🐾 My dog walks (sometimes, but usually behind engrossed in a scent or pretending to be a cow eating a blade of grass) ahead of me
on walks!
🐾 I buy my dog special things
when I'm out because I think he will like it! (Duuuuuh)
...SO STOP PANICKING OR BEATING YOURSELVES UP FOR COMPLETELY NORMAL THINGS!!
You are:
🐾 Allowed
to love your dogs and let them enjoy themselves
🐾 NOT
spoiling them by letting them do these things
🐾 NOT
letting them rule the roost by letting them do these things
Don’t let “that TikTok trainer” or “that bloke on TV” make you think that you are doing anything wrong by letting your dogs do any of these things IF YOU WANT THEM TO!
If you don’t want your dog to do any of the above, THIS IS ALSO FINE TOO! But don’t let it be because of “dominance”, “spoiling” or “ruling the roost”. Let it be due to your personal preference
😊 (Smelly frenchie arses are absolutely a good enough excuse not to have them with their bums in your face on your bed 🤣🤣🤣)
